Liverpool to Sell Three Stars to Fund Mega Transfer of Alexander Isak

The Premier League champions remain interested in Alexander Isak to strengthen their attacking line, despite last week’s signing of Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool has already spent €270 million on six new signings, showing no fear of breaching financial regulations.

To continue making further additions, the sale of some players would be necessary. ESPN reports that securing €80–100 million through the sale of Darwin Núñez, Harvey Elliott, and Federico Chiesa would create the required budget to spend up to €150 million on Isak, without risking any issues with financial regulations.

A €150 million offer for Isak — which would meet Newcastle’s asking price — would bring Liverpool’s total summer spending to around €430 million, breaking the world record set by Chelsea in 2023 for the highest spending in a single transfer window, currently standing at €404 million.

This investment in the squad has been made possible thanks to increased revenue and prize money earnings, combined with minimal spending last summer, which has significantly raised the club’s financial ceiling under PSR regulations.

Moreover, there is an expectation that following a summer where players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Hugo Ekitike, Armin Pecsi, and possibly Isak have joined the squad, there will be no need for major spending next summer.

If Liverpool manages to raise the funds through the sale of the mentioned trio and Newcastle accepts the €150 million offer, it is very likely that Alexander Isak will be a Liverpool player before the close of the summer transfer window.
