Champions League Draw Held – European Giants Learn Their Opponents

Today (Friday) in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the Champions League play-off stage was held, where the European giants have now learned their opponents.

The biggest surprise of the league phase of the Champions League was the fact that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid did not finish among the top eight teams.

As is already known, the teams ranked from 1st to 8th place have qualified directly for the Round of 16, while the teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in the play-offs, with matches played over two legs (home and away).

The draw paired a French derby between Monaco and PSG, while another highly interesting clash is expected between Galatasaray and Juventus.

Real Madrid will once again face Benfica after the thriller played in Portugal, while Inter will take on Norwegian side Bodo Glimt.

Full draw:

  • Bodo Glimt vs Inter
  • Benfica vs Real Madrid
  • Monaco vs Paris Saint-Germain
  • Galatasaray vs Juventus
  • Club Brugge vs Atletico Madrid
  • Borussia Dortmund vs Atalanta
  • Olympiacos vs Bayer Leverkusen
  • Qarabag vs Newcastle United

The first-leg matches will be played on February 17 or 18, while the return legs will take place on February 24 or 25.

It is worth noting that the teams ranked from 9th to 16th place will play the first leg away from home and the second leg at home.
