The 2026 winter transfer window has closed in the major leagues, and Transfermarkt’s list shows that the biggest deals were once again concentrated around the Premier League.
The most expensive transfer of the winter was completed by Manchester City, who signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for €72 million.
He is followed by another high-profile Premier League move. Liverpool signed centre-back Jeremy Jacquet for €63.6 million, although he will remain on loan at Rennes until the end of the season.
Crystal Palace were among the most active clubs at the top of the list. They signed striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton for €49.7 million, followed by Brennan Johnson, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur for €40 million.
Two transfers from outside Europe in the top 10
Tottenham signed Conor Gallagher from Atlético Madrid for €40 million, while Atlético Madrid strengthened their attack by bringing in Ademola Lookman from Atalanta for €35 million.
The only departure from the Premier League in the top ten was the return of Lucas Paquetá to Brazil. Flamengo paid West Ham €42 million for the attacking midfielder, making it one of the biggest winter deals outside England

.
The list also includes two other notable signings. Al-Hilal brought in 18-year-old Kader Meïté from Rennes for €30 million, while West Ham signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio for €29 million.
Also featuring at the bottom of the top ten are Fulham, who signed Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for €31.2 million, and Bournemouth, who purchased striker Rayan from Vasco da Gama for €28.5 million.
Overall, this winter has shown that English clubs continue to dictate the pace of the market, and that even the Premier League’s “middle tier” is increasingly engaging in transfers that until recently were reserved only for elite giants.
