Inter are considering the possibility of selling Marcus Thuram during the summer transfer window, according to Italian media reports.
The early and surprising elimination by FK Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League knockout play-off round has had a significant impact on the club’s finances. Inter earned only €66 million from European competitions this season, far less than the €137 million generated from their run to the final last season.
The financial gap is expected to have serious consequences for next season’s budget, forcing the club to balance the books through player sales. Thuram is seen as one of the main assets who could be sacrificed, especially considering that he joined on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, which would allow Inter to secure a full capital gain from his sale.
The French striker is under contract until June 2028 and is valued at around €60 million on the market, although his form this season has declined.
In addition to Thuram, Denzel Dumfries could also leave the San Siro, as Inter’s management is expected to make important decisions to restore both financial and sporting stability to the team.
