Inter striker Lautaro Martínez believes that the Argentine national team is currently stronger than Spain. This comes after the final between Argentina and Spain, initially scheduled for March 27 in Qatar, was canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East.
In an interview on the YouTube channel Lo del Pollo, Lautaro was asked whether Argentina is currently a better team than La Roja.
“Is the Argentine national team stronger than Spain today? Yes. There are many teams, like France, Spain, and Portugal, that are in excellent form with players at their peak. I consider them contenders, but Argentina is always a contender because of the level of our players and what we have achieved in recent years,” Lautaro initially said.
“We know the standards are high. Everyone wants to beat us, considering what we’ve achieved recently. We must continue to compete in the same way, with the desire to take Argentina as far as possible,” the Inter striker concluded.
Meanwhile, Argentina are the current world champions and will aim to repeat the success of “Qatar 2022” by winning another trophy at the 2026 World Cup.
