In less than five months, Robert Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona is expected to expire, and so far no decision has been made on whether he will be offered the chance to extend his stay at Spotify Camp Nou.
Lewandowski has been in excellent form during his four seasons at Barcelona, but in recent months he has significantly lost his prominence.
He is no longer the first-choice striker for Hansi Flick, as Ferran Torres has overtaken him in the team hierarchy. Nevertheless, the Polish striker is determined to continue at the Catalan club.
Barcelona have yet to make a decision regarding Lewandowski’s future, and the player himself is not in a hurry either. According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, he will not commit to any club before the club’s presidential elections, which will take place on March 15.

This means that Chicago Fire will have to wait to find out whether Lewandowski will join them this summer. They have already made an offer for the 37-year-old, who is intrigued by the idea of playing in the United States at this stage of his career.
Atletico Madrid, Milan, Fenerbahçe, as well as several clubs from Saudi Arabia, are also monitoring Lewandowski’s situation, aiming to sign him if he becomes a free agent.
All parties will continue to follow the case, now knowing that no decision is expected to be made for at least another five to six weeks.
