Arne Slot’s side produced a convincing performance to defeat Eddie Howe’s Newcastle 4–1 at Anfield.
It was the visitors who struck first, but that goal only seemed to spur the Reds on.
Five minutes after falling behind, Liverpool’s in-form duo Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike combined to level the score.
Just two minutes later, Ekitike struck again—this time after an assist from Milos Kerkez—to complete the turnaround in the 43rd minute.
The provider of the first goal, Wirtz, made it 3–1 in the 67th minute following a pass from Mohamed Salah.
Defender Ibrahima Konaté sealed the result in the 93rd minute.
With this victory, Liverpool move up to fifth place with 39 points, just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Newcastle sit 10th with 33 points after 24 matches.
