Milan has returned to the Serie A title race, closing the gap to just five points behind league leaders Inter.
This comes after a 3–2 victory against Torino on Saturday at San Siro.
The match started better for the visitors, who created good chances, including a dangerous attempt by Ardian Ismajli, but goalkeeper Mike Maignan reacted well.
Milan took the lead in the 36th minute with a long-range goal from Strahinja Pavlović.
Torino responded quickly and equalized before the end of the first half with a goal from Giovanni Simeone.
In the second half, the team led by Massimiliano Allegri came back stronger. First, Adrien Rabiot scored for 2–1 after an assist from Christian Pulisic, and then Youssouf Fofana added the third goal for Milan.
Torino did not give up and reduced the score to 3–2 in the final minutes with a penalty converted by Nikola Vlašić, but Milan managed to hold on to their lead until the end.
With this victory, Milan moves up to second place and continues the pursuit of the title, while Torino remains mid-table, far from the relegation zone.
