PSG win the Super Cup against Marseille after a dramatic penalty shootout

Paris Saint-Germain have won the French Super Cup after defeating their eternal rivals Olympique Marseille on penalties, in a spectacular match that ended 2–2 in regular time.

The clash was played at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait and delivered excitement until the very end.

PSG took an early lead when Ousmane Dembélé scored in the 13th minute, giving the Parisian side the advantage. Marseille responded in the second half and equalized in the 76th minute through Mason Greenwood, who calmly converted from the penalty spot.

The match became even more intense in the closing minutes, as the score was leveled at 2–2 in the 87th minute following an own goal by Willian Pacho, forcing both teams to turn to penalties to decide the winner of the trophy.

From the spot, PSG proved more accurate and composed, winning the penalty shootout and lifting the French Super Cup.

With this victory, the Parisians begin the season with an important trophy, while Marseille are left to regret a defeat in a match in which they were very close to triumph.
