The team led by Alvaro Arbeloa – after being beaten last week by Osasuna – were defeated again this round by Getafe, right in the middle of the “Bernabéu.”
The only goal of the match was scored by Martín Satriano, with the game ending 1–0 in favor of the visitors.
Although Real dominated the match almost throughout, holding 80% possession, they failed to find the net guarded by David Soria.
The Spanish goalkeeper made seven saves in this encounter, delivering a great performance in the Spanish capital.
In the 95th minute, Real were reduced to ten men after Franco Mastantuono received a red card for comments made toward the main referee.
In the 97th minute, Adrián Liso was also shown a red card.
With this defeat, Real now remain four points behind Barcelona, who defeated Villarreal 4–1 at “Camp Nou” on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Getafe move up to 32 points, sitting in 11th place in La Liga.
