Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly beginning to evaluate options for a new head coach for next season, as the club aims to build a long-term project following the temporary period under Alvaro Arbeloa.
According to journalist Jorge Picon, Arbeloa is viewed by the club’s leadership as a transitional solution, while the Madrid side is monitoring several well-known candidates for the team’s bench.
At the top of the list remains the club’s former successful coach Zinedine Zidane, who continues to be the preferred option of president Florentino Perez.
However, his return to Madrid could be complicated due to potential interest in taking charge of the France national football team in the future.
Among the candidates being evaluated by the Madrid leadership is also former Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp. According to reports, initial contacts have already been made with representatives of the German coach.
A surprise name on Real Madrid’s possible shortlist is former Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who is currently managing the Italian club Como 1907. He is highly regarded by some influential figures within the club for his coaching style and potential as a manager.
Real Madrid’s leadership is expected to make a final decision in the coming months, as the club carefully analyzes its options in order to select the coach who will lead the new sporting project.
