The unimaginable has happened — the four top goalkeepers of Bayern Munich are all injured.
Manuel Neuer is dealing with a calf problem, Jonas Urbig has suffered a concussion, Leon Klanac has a muscle injury, and now Sven Ulreich has also sustained a muscle tear.
Ulreich suffered the injury during Bayern Munich’s 1–1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
This is far from ideal at this stage of the season, especially considering that the team faces Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Bild reports that Ulreich will be out of action for six weeks.
Before a possible return of Neuer and Urbig, one of the young goalkeepers — Jannis Bärtl (19) or Leonard Prescott (16) — will have to start against Atalanta on Wednesday in the Champions League.
It is possible that Urbig could be ready if the symptoms of his concussion improve.
