The Light That Leads Me

Behind me, a light
fear takes flight,
and brightness fills its place.

A glow settles at my feet;
the silent street
knows its grace.

The path grows wide,
walls give way,
fingertips find
another hand, another mind.

Thoughts of harmony cross the sea,
and hearts grow calm,
soft and free.

Though the light speaks not a word,
it lifts the fallen,
tender and unheard.
The grace of a single flame
calls peace by name.

In the dark,
a trembling spark
paints the sky
and hope rises high.

And so, it begins
with the light within.
