Poem by Armenida Qyqja

I hold my breath…

On the border of the night that keeps pushing and pushing,
Burns this charred dusk,
The night knows no satiety, leaves him no room to breath
And I’m the only one that feels his pain…

Moment of anguish and your hand isn’t here
To hold mine, tight,
And your chest is too faraway
To shelter us both in there…

I hold my breath inside my lungs
To spare the air till you come,
While I watch how the dusk loses
Even the last flame on his lips, hopelessly…
