Xabi Alonso is not expected to remain without a coaching job for long. According to British media, the Spanish coach, who recently ended his short spell at Real Madrid after just half a season, could return to the Premier League—this time as a manager.
His stint at the Royal Club was marked by a series of poor results and, according to speculation, disagreements with several players, which led president Florentino Pérez to terminate the collaboration. Temporarily, his role was taken over by Álvaro Arbeloa.
However, his break appears unlikely to last long. Liverpool—the club where Alonso left a deep mark as a player, with 210 appearances and as part of the legendary team that won the Champions League in 2005—is seriously considering him as a candidate to replace current manager Arne Slot, as pressure mounts due to inconsistent results.

Alonso is said to have a clear vision for rebuilding the Reds and has set full freedom in transfer decision-making as a key condition, along with significant investment of up to €460 million for reinforcements.
Micky van de Ven, Adam Wharton, Bradley Barcola, and Michael Olise are among the names mentioned on his wishlist, covering all areas of the pitch and bringing fresh energy to a team that has struggled recently.
If everything goes according to plan, Liverpool could become the new stage of the Spanish coach’s career, giving Alonso the opportunity to restore former glory at Anfield.
