English striker Harry Kane has confirmed that he is very close to extending his contract with Bayern Munich, putting an end to speculation about a possible departure from the Bavarian giants.
In an interview with Sky, the Ballon d’Or winner spoke about the special moment he is experiencing, as well as Bayern’s upcoming Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.
Kane stressed that, despite the extraordinary days he has enjoyed, his focus is now entirely on the important European encounter.
“These have been truly incredible days for me, but now I want to focus only on Atletico Madrid. It will be a very tough match. We are missing Kompany, and the fact that the team is playing well even without him clearly shows what a great coach he is,” the English striker said.
However, the biggest news from his interview concerned his future at the Allianz Arena.
Kane revealed that a contract extension is just days away, confirming his desire to continue his journey with the Bavarian club.
“I will sign the new contract in the coming days. I will renew my contract with Bayern Munich,” the striker stressed.
This confirmation is expected to put an end to interest from other clubs in his services, including Barcelona, who have been mentioned as one of the teams interested in signing the England international.
