Kylian Mbappé has etched his name into French football history.
The France forward scored twice in his team’s 3-1 victory over Senegal in the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in the history of the French national team.
With his brace, Mbappé reached 58 goals in just 99 appearances for France, surpassing Olivier Giroud, who previously held the record with 57 goals in 137 matches.
At just 27 years old, the France captain continues to break records and is now chasing another historic milestone: the all-time World Cup goalscoring record. He needs only two more goals to equal Miroslav Klose’s legendary tally.
