Vladimir Nabokov was a highly influential Russian-American writer, best known for his unique literary style, rich language, and innovative narrative techniques. He was born on April 22, 1899, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, into an educated and wealthy family. After the Russian Revolution, Nabokov and his family were forced to leave the country, living first in Germany and later in France, before he eventually moved to the United States.

Nabokov wrote in both Russian and English, becoming one of the few authors to gain international recognition in two languages. His most famous novel is Lolita (1955), a controversial but highly praised work, admired for its artistic language and psychological depth. Other important works include Pale Fire, Pnin, and The Gift.

In addition to literature, Nabokov had a deep passion for butterflies and worked as a respected lepidopterist (a scientist who studies butterflies). He even developed scientific theories about butterfly evolution, which were later confirmed by modern research.

Nabokov’s writing is characterized by wordplay, symbolism, complex structures, and emotional subtlety. He believed that literature should not only tell a story, but also engage the reader intellectually and aesthetically. Today, Vladimir Nabokov is considered one of the most original and influential authors of the 20th century, leaving a lasting legacy in world literature.
