“When I arrived in Milan in 1995, almost no one noticed me. They thought I was just Rambert’s companion,” Javier Zanetti said, recalling his first steps in an Inter shirt. “No one could have imagined what I would go on to build with this club.”
Speaking about Inter’s historic figures, Zanetti stopped to talk about Ronaldo: “He was an extraordinary champion, on and off the pitch. Once he even stopped a plane so we could wait for our teammates — it was something unbelievable.”
On Roberto Baggio, the former Nerazzurri captain said: “Baggio was a great man, very sensitive. I have seen him cry, and that moment has stayed with me.”
Regarding the ultras fans, Zanetti emphasized: “Relations have always been normal and respectful. There is a line that should not be crossed, and I have always respected it.”
