Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa has told the media that he hopes Vinícius Júnior and the club will find a way for the Brazilian to remain at the club. The renewal of his contract, which has been on hold since last summer, has been a hot topic of discussion for most of the season.
Following Xabi Alonso’s departure, it has been reported that Vinícius is once again open to signing a contract extension. His agent is currently in the Spanish capital, but so far there have been no reports of any progress. Arbeloa was asked whether he would like Vinícius to sign a new deal.
“It’s not up to me; it’s a matter for the club and the player. Of course, I hope he continues to make history here.”
On several occasions, Arbeloa has been asked whether he believes the squad needs reinforcements or whether Real Madrid has plans to act in the transfer market. Once again, Arbeloa avoided going into too much detail.
“I have an extraordinary squad. If anything is missing, we have an excellent youth academy, just as has always been the case throughout Real Madrid’s history.”
