Flamengo have reached an agreement to sign Lucas Paquetá from West Ham United, with the Brazilian midfielder set to return “home.”
According to reports, the parties have agreed on a deal worth €42 million, a figure that represents a record transfer for the Rio de Janeiro club.
Paquetá had only one desire: Flamengo. This proved decisive in concluding the negotiations, with the player expected to travel to Brazil today to undergo medical tests and sign his new contract.
The agreement includes a five-year contract, while West Ham have given the green light to Flamengo’s sporting director, José Boto, to finalize the transfer.
Paquetá’s return is a major moment for the red-and-black supporters, as he developed and rose to prominence at Flamengo before beginning his European adventure.
The club believes that his experience in the Premier League will be a significant boost to their domestic and international ambitions.
