Arsenal secured all three points at home against Chelsea in Matchweek 28 of the Premier League.
The Gunners defeated their local rivals 2–1 in a match where all the goals came from corner kicks.
Gabriel delivered a brilliant assist to William Saliba, who headed the ball home to give Arsenal the lead (21’).
The hosts could have easily scored a second goal, but both Timber and Gyökeres missed from close range.
When no one expected it, Chelsea managed to equalize. In fact, it was an own goal. Pierre Hincapié headed the ball into his own net while attempting to clear Reece James’ cross (45+2’).
The second half was calmer. Arsenal found the net again — this time through Timber following another corner kick (66’).
Chelsea’s situation worsened when Pedro Neto received his second yellow card and was sent off.
Nevertheless, in the final minute, Alejandro Garnacho had a chance to level the score, but Raya denied him with a superb save.
The visitors did find the equalizer through Dalip, but the goal was ruled out for offside (90+6’).
As a result, Arsenal move up to 64 points, while Chelsea remain in sixth place with 45 points.
