he Catalan club FC Barcelona has confirmed the return of Gavi to action after recovering from a knee injury that had kept him out of the pitch for a long time.
The Spanish midfielder has not played for the Catalan giants since September of last year. After accelerating his recovery in recent weeks, Gavi has now received the green light to return to the squad ahead of tomorrow’s La Liga match against Sevilla FC.
“Gavi has received medical clearance and is available for tomorrow’s match against Sevilla,” Barcelona said in a statement.
Following the announcement, head coach Hansi Flick also spoke, saying he is happy about the midfielder’s return and hopes he can play a few minutes.
“I’m very happy for Gavi. I hope he can play a few minutes tomorrow, but we need to take it step by step. He has a long career ahead of him and we need to manage him properly,” Flick said.
