According to Topskills Sports UK, Barcelona representatives have officially begun negotiations with Manchester City for the transfer of the 25-year-old Norwegian goal machine, Erling Haaland.
Reports claim that Barcelona’s newly elected president, Joan Laporta, is determined to do everything possible to convince the Norwegian to leave the Etihad and join Barcelona as early as this summer.
Despite Haaland being tied to City with a long-term contract, he has a release clause that could make things easier for Barcelona—provided Laporta secures the funds needed to activate it.
This season, Haaland has played 43 matches for the “Citizens,” scoring 30 goals and providing 7 assists. His current contract with Manchester City runs until 2034, and Transfermarkt values him at €200 million.
