FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has dismissed all speculation regarding a possible departure during the summer transfer window, confirming that his desire is to remain with the Catalan club.
After the 3-1 defeat against Valencia CF in the final round of the La Liga season, the Dutch midfielder spoke clearly to the media: “I will not leave Barcelona this summer. I have never thought about leaving.”
De Jong’s statement comes at a time when his name has been constantly linked with several major European clubs, but it appears that the 29-year-old is determined to continue the project with Barcelona.
