Justin Baldoni Will Pay Blake Lively $400,000 in Legal Fees

Blake Lively will not receive the $8 million she had requested from Justin Baldoni to cover her legal expenses. According to a court ruling, the actor will pay his co-star from the film “It Ends With Us” approximately $400,000.

In June 2025, a judge dismissed the defamation lawsuit that Justin Baldoni had filed against Blake Lively and The New York Times, while also ruling that the actress was entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred as part of her legal defense.

Lively had sought approximately $8 million, claiming that Baldoni owed her $7,495,526.87 in attorneys’ fees, along with an additional $539,514.01 in various expenses related to her defense.

Baldoni challenged the request, arguing that the amount was excessive and that he should have to pay a six-figure sum rather than a seven-figure amount. The judge ultimately ruled that Lively should receive $363,245.40 in attorneys’ fees, as well as $44,206.35 in legal expenses, bringing the total to approximately $407,000.

The ruling appears to bring an end to the final outstanding matter between Lively and Baldoni, following their out-of-court settlement reached before the trial, which had been expected to begin in May and was regarded as a particularly high-profile case.

Under the settlement, neither party paid financial damages to the other, while Lively withdrew her sexual harassment allegations against Baldoni.

Following the settlement, both sides released a joint statement, which said, among other things, that the concerns raised by Lively deserved to be heard and that both parties remained committed to creating work environments free from inappropriate behavior and unproductive atmospheres.
