Opta Supercomputer Predicts the Winner of the 2026/27 Champions League

Opta’s supercomputer has released its first predictions for the new Champions League season, and they offer worrying signs for the Spanish clubs ahead of the league phase, which begins next Tuesday.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are considered the leading favorites to win the 2026/27 edition, while Manchester City, PSG and Barcelona rank just behind them.

Although the new Champions League season has only just begun, Opta’s supercomputer has released its predictions for the teams most likely to go all the way in the competition.

According to the simulations, Arsenal are the leading favorites to win the trophy, with a 21.2 percent chance of being crowned European champions. The Gunners also have a 93.1 percent chance of progressing from the league phase and a 34.7 percent chance of reaching the final.

Bayern Munich are immediately behind Arsenal, with a 19.9 percent chance of winning the competition, while Manchester City rank third with a 12 percent chance.

Paris Saint-Germain have a 7.7 percent chance of retaining or winning the trophy, while Barcelona are ranked just behind the French champions with a 7 percent chance.

Among the 10 teams with the highest chances of winning the competition are also Real Madrid and Liverpool, both with a 5.1 percent chance. They are followed by Manchester United with 3.7 percent, Inter Milan with 3.4 percent, and Aston Villa with 2 percent.

The teams ranked from 11th to 24th are Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Club Brugge, Porto, Como, Stuttgart, Bodo/Glimt, Atletico Madrid, Lens, PSV Eindhoven, RB Leipzig, Napoli and Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, the teams expected to be eliminated are Villarreal, Slavia Prague, Lille, Real Betis, Galatasaray, Viking, AEK Athens, LASK, Feyenoord, Slovan Bratislava, Sabah and Shakhtar Donetsk.
