José Mourinho will be the next coach of Real Madrid after reaching an agreement with the club and president Florentino Pérez.
The news has been confirmed by several major sources such as Marca, COPE, and The Athletic, while the official announcement is expected to arrive very soon.
Real Madrid will reportedly have to pay around €3 million to Benfica in order to terminate Mourinho’s contract with the Portuguese club.
The Portuguese manager previously coached Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning La Liga but failing to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Real Madrid also values Mourinho because of the authority he carries in the dressing room, especially after recent tensions and reports suggesting that several divided groups have formed within the squad.
The club is now expected to be active during the summer transfer window, aiming to strengthen the team while also planning to sell some current players.
For the second consecutive year, the Madrid giants finished the season without winning a trophy — something considered unacceptable for a club of such stature — and they are determined to bounce back next season.
