Norwegian striker Erling Haaland is set for an emotional night on Wednesday, as his team Manchester City faces Borussia Dortmund in the fourth round of the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland joined City from Dortmund three years ago and has since become one of the best forwards in the world.
During the pre-match press conference, both Haaland and City manager Pep Guardiola spoke to the media.
At one point, Guardiola said that Haaland is on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, due to the huge impact he has on the game. Haaland laughed at the remark and sincerely denied his coach’s words.
“No one can come close to them. I’m just a Norwegian guy, and I shouldn’t think I’m special just because I score a lot of goals,” said Haaland.
