Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
Salah, 33, joined Liverpool in 2017 for £37 million from AS Roma and has since become one of the greatest players in the club’s history.
The Egyptian forward is Liverpool’s third all-time top scorer, with 255 goals in 435 appearances.
In a statement on social media, Salah said:
“Hello everyone, unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, and these people would become part of my life.
Liverpool is not just a football club—it is passion, history, and soul. I cannot put into words what this means to anyone who is not part of this club. We celebrated victories, won the most important trophies, and stood together even in the toughest times. I want to thank everyone who was part of this club during my time here, especially my teammates, past and present.
And to the fans: I don’t have enough words to thank you for the support you showed me during the best period of my career and for your strength during the most difficult times. This is something I will never forget and will always carry with me.
Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always remain my home and that of my family. Thank you for everything—because of you, I will never walk alone,” he wrote in his farewell message.
