Liverpool are not planning to replace Arne Slot with Xabi Alonso this summer, despite recent speculation.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the “Reds” continue to trust Slot and have made no move to bring Alonso back to Anfield.
Reports from Germany had suggested that Alonso was being considered as an option to take charge of the team, but Romano has dismissed these claims, emphasizing that there has been no contact between the parties.
Liverpool are heading toward a disappointing end to the season, with the team currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League. A potential absence from the Champions League could increase pressure on the manager and open serious discussions about his future, even though he still has one year left on his contract.
Meanwhile, Alonso is currently without a club after leaving Real Madrid in January, after only eight months in charge. His connection with Liverpool has made him a frequently mentioned name for the role, but for now, the club is reportedly focused on supporting Slot rather than preparing for a change on the bench.
