Manchester United have officially confirmed the contract extension of Michael Carrick, who will remain manager of the “Red Devils” until the end of 2028.
The club’s legendary former midfielder took charge of the team in January as an interim coach, but his positive results convinced the United board to trust him with the club’s long-term project.
Carrick has won 11 of his 16 Premier League matches, guiding Manchester United back into the Champions League and lifting the squad’s morale after a difficult season.
According to reports from Sky Sports, the agreement includes a contract running until 2028, with the option of extending it for an additional year.
Carrick, who made more than 450 appearances for United as a player, will now have the mission of returning the English club to the fight for the biggest trophies in England and Europe.
