The Spanish coach also explained how his team managed to limit Lionel Messi’s influence, giving full credit to his players for their commitment and sacrifice throughout the tournament.
“We had an outstanding World Cup and learned from every match. We were the better team in the final. It’s a shame we didn’t secure the victory earlier, but it’s never easy to play games like these,” he said.

Speaking about the tactical plan to contain Messi, the Spanish manager added:
