According to the Italian news agency Adnkronos, negotiations over Dua Lipa’s involvement in the 2027 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival have advanced significantly, although neither Italian broadcaster Rai nor the festival organizers have officially confirmed the British-Albanian singer’s participation so far.
If an agreement is reached, Dua Lipa could have a more prominent role than that of a regular international guest. According to reports, she could serve as a co-host on one of the festival’s main nights.

If her participation is confirmed, this would not be Dua Lipa’s debut at Sanremo.
The singer performed her hit song “Don’t Start Now” at the festival in 2020, during the first edition hosted by Amadeus.
It is not yet known on which night of the 2027 festival Dua Lipa could appear. According to reports, possibilities include the opening night and the grand final, while another option could be the evening dedicated to selecting Italy’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.
At present, Dua Lipa does not have any concerts or live performances scheduled during the dates of Sanremo 2027, which could make her participation in the festival possible.
Dua Lipa is not the only name linked to the upcoming edition of Sanremo, which will be the first under the direction of Stefano De Martino.
Other names reportedly being considered include renowned Italian television presenter Maria De Filippi and comedian Brenda Lodigiani.
However, for now, all of these remain possibilities, as preparations for the festival are ongoing and none of these appearances has been officially confirmed.
If Dua Lipa does indeed take on the role of co-host, her participation would mark a special return to the Ariston stage—this time not only as a performing artist, but also as one of the festival’s leading figures.
