Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has called for maximum caution against Liverpool FC in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
Paris Saint-Germain travels to Anfield with a 2–0 advantage from the first match in Paris, where they completely dominated and did not allow a single shot on target from the opponent. However, Enrique insisted that this result guarantees nothing.
“We must be very careful, because there can be traps in such a match. Everyone says we won easily, but things can change very quickly in football,” he stated.
According to the Spanish coach, an early goal from Liverpool could completely change the course of the game.
“We need to be prepared for every situation. If we concede a goal in the first half, the match remains open and the pressure immediately increases,” Enrique emphasized.
Despite the advantage, PSG will not change their style of play.
“We will go onto the pitch to win, as always. It is not in our philosophy to defend and wait. We want to control the game and create chances,” he said.
He also warned that his team will face serious difficulties in England.
“We will encounter problems, that is certain. It will not be easy at all, even though we have the advantage. I think it will be a very tough match until the end,” added the Spanish tactician.
Enrique also spoke about the atmosphere at Anfield, describing it as a major challenge but also extra motivation.
“We know how difficult it is to play at Anfield, but that motivates us. We want to show our game and win there as well,” said the PSG coach.
