Sergio Ramos reaches an agreement to buy Sevilla

Football legend Sergio Ramos has taken a major step toward becoming the owner of Sevilla FC, the club where he began his career as a footballer.

According to reports from Spanish media, Ramos has reached a preliminary agreement with the Andalusian club’s shareholder group to begin the process of acquiring the club itself. According to sources, the initial offer submitted for the purchase of the club is valued at around €450 million, and Ramos and his business partner, Martin Ink — part of the investment group Five Eleven Capital — now hold exclusivity to thoroughly review the club’s financial situation before finalizing a full agreement.

The process includes an in-depth audit of the club’s accounts and negotiations over the final terms, which are expected to take several weeks to several months.

It has not yet been officially confirmed whether the transaction will be completed, but the latest step indicates that Ramos and his team are serious about this project.

Ramos, who is currently out of contract after parting ways with Monterrey, has played for Sevilla during two different periods of his career — first at the very beginning of his professional journey and most recently during the 2023/24 season.

If the deal is completed, Ramos will become part of one of the most significant ownership operations in Spanish football, returning to the place where it all began for him — this time as the owner of the club that shaped him as a player.
