Al-Ittihad Offers a Staggering Salary, Salah Prepares for a Move to Saudi Arabia

Mohamed Salah is now a free agent, and the money being offered from Saudi Arabia is almost impossible to turn down.

Liverpool have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Salah to shorten his contract by one year, bringing his nine-year spell at Anfield to an end this summer. The 33-year-old clashed with former manager Arne Slot during the season and will now be free to choose his next destination.

According to a report from Ahmed Mubarak’s YouTube channel, Al-Ittihad are prepared to offer Salah a net salary of £65 million (€75 million) per year on a three-year contract — a total of £195 million (€225 million) in base wages alone, excluding bonuses, image rights, and commercial revenues. This would represent a dramatic increase compared to the earnings he received during his time at Liverpool.

Al-Ittihad have been long-time admirers of the Egyptian star. Liverpool rejected a €175 million offer from the Saudi club back in 2023, and they are now considered the leading favorites to sign him. However, Roma, Juventus, Fenerbahçe, and MLS side San Diego FC have also been linked with the player.

Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool, making him the club’s third-highest goalscorer of all time behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.

During the 2025/26 season, which was overshadowed by the public fallout with Slot, Salah managed to score seven goals and provide seven assists in 27 Premier League appearances before his departure was officially confirmed.
