Bellingham Makes Champions League History, Overtaking Casillas in a Special Record

Jude Bellingham has set another record in the Champions League, becoming the youngest player in the history of the competition to reach 60 appearances.

The Real Madrid midfielder achieved this milestone at the age of 23 years and 128 days during the match against AEK Athens in Greece.

Until now, the record was held by Iker Casillas, who made his 60th appearance at the age of 23 years and 167 days.

As a result, Bellingham surpassed the former Real Madrid goalkeeper by 39 days, Goal reports, as cited by Gazeta Express.

The Englishman had already set another record in this regard, becoming the youngest player to reach 50 Champions League appearances in November last year.

He made his debut in the competition with Borussia Dortmund in October 2020, when he was just 17 years old.

In his 60 appearances so far – 23 with Dortmund and 37 with Real Madrid – Bellingham has scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists.

In this way, the 23-year-old continues to confirm his importance in European football, surpassing some of the biggest names in Real Madrid’s history.
