Ciro Immobile has decided to end his career as a professional footballer at the age of 36.
The Italian striker is bringing an end to a 17-year career in professional football, with Paris FC being the final club of his career. The decision was made public on August 14, 2026.
Immobile retires with remarkable statistics: 656 official appearances and 350 goals at club level, according to data published following his retirement. With the Italian national team, he made 57 appearances and scored 17 goals.
His career began at Sorrento before he moved to Juventus. He was subsequently loaned to Siena, Grosseto and Pescara, where he broke through with 28 goals in Serie B and helped the team win the league title and promotion to Serie A.
After Pescara, he played for Genoa and Torino, where in the 2013/14 season he became Serie A’s top scorer with 22 goals. He then embarked on an adventure abroad with Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla, before returning to Torino and eventually moving to Lazio.
At Lazio, Immobile became a club legend. In 340 appearances, he scored 207 goals and became the club’s all-time leading scorer.
With the Rome-based club, he won one Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups. In the 2019/20 season, he scored 36 goals, equaling Gonzalo Higuain’s record and winning the European Golden Shoe. However, the biggest trophy of his career came with the Italian national team.
Immobile was part of the squad that won Euro 2020 at Wembley against England in 2021, becoming European champions.
A major chapter comes to an end for one of the most important Italian goalscorers of his generation: 350 goals, 656 appearances, four Capocannoniere titles, the European Golden Shoe, and European Championship glory with Italy.
