Atletico Madrid have officially announced the signing of striker Jonathan David from Juventus on loan until the end of the season.
The Canadian forward will join Diego Simeone’s side, who reached an agreement with Juventus in the final days of the transfer window.
The deal also includes an option for Atletico Madrid to make David’s move permanent. According to reports, the Spanish club will have the opportunity to activate the purchase option for €25 million.
David joined Juventus after a highly successful spell at Lille, but he failed to replicate the same form during his first season in Serie A.
With Juventus, he scored eight goals, including two in the Champions League, and provided five assists.
His arrival gives the Argentine coach another attacking option. Atletico already have Julian Alvarez and Ademola Lookman available, while Alexander Sorloth remains sidelined with an injury.
