England captain Harry Kane believes the current squad has the perfect balance of experience and youth to mount a serious challenge at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Kane highlighted the presence of players with experience in both international and club finals as a key advantage heading into the tournament.
“There is a great blend of experience, with players who have reached international finals as well as club finals and played in major matches,” Kane said.
“So we can certainly rely on that experience to help us. Of course, we also have some outstanding young players—players who are playing in their first World Cup.”
Kane believes the tournament represents a huge opportunity for England to finally end its long wait for a global title.
“It is certainly one of the best opportunities we will have as a team to win it.”
