Bayern Munich star Harry Kane believes he could be a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or if he leads England to World Cup glory.
After a spectacular season in which he scored 61 goals across all competitions, the English striker is convinced that success on the international stage would strengthen his candidacy for football’s most prestigious individual award.
Kane has enjoyed one of the finest seasons of his career, finishing as the Bundesliga’s top scorer with 36 goals in 31 matches.
He also won the European Golden Shoe for the second time in three years and added three team trophies to his collection.
His success has been crucial for Bayern Munich, and in an interview with L’Équipe, he admitted that the dream of winning the Ballon d’Or is very much alive.
“I would definitely be among the favorites,” he said.
He added that if England were to win the World Cup, it would be only natural for an English player to claim the award.
However, Kane acknowledges that the competition is extremely strong and that success at club level alone is not always enough.
He also mentioned several other strong contenders for the prize, emphasizing that the race remains open and unpredictable until the very end.
