Negotiations over Vinicius Junior’s contract renewal with Real Madrid have once again reached a standstill after the Brazilian forward’s representatives refused to return to the negotiating table until the club presents an improved financial offer.
The two sides appeared close to reaching an agreement before Vinicius left for his post-season vacation, but talks have stalled once again due to disagreements over the player’s salary.
According to journalist Ramon Alvarez, Vinicius’ camp has grown increasingly frustrated with media speculation surrounding the negotiations, insisting that no official meetings have taken place in recent weeks, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
The Brazilian’s representatives are unhappy with how the situation has been portrayed publicly and have decided not to hold any further meetings with Real Madrid officials until the club improves its current proposal.
At present, Real Madrid are reportedly offering Vinicius a salary of around €20 million per season, but the player wants to be paid on the same level as Kylian Mbappe, who remains the highest-paid player in the squad.
To reach an agreement, Los Blancos would need to increase their current offer by approximately 25 to 50 percent.
Vinicius’ camp is reportedly seeking an additional €6 million to €10 million per year.
According to reports, the club is unwilling to break its established wage structure and has even hinted that it would be prepared to consider selling the 26-year-old this summer if no agreement is reached.
Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounding Vinicius’ future has also raised concerns within the club about the long-term balance of its attacking unit.
Ramon Alvarez also claims that doubts are growing at Valdebebas over whether the trio of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham can function effectively together, despite their exceptional individual qualities.
Real Madrid also finished the most recent season without winning a major trophy, although all three stars impressed with their national teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Mbappe finished the tournament as the top scorer and won the Bronze Ball, Bellingham guided England to a third-place finish, while Vinicius was one of Brazil’s standout performers until the Seleção were eliminated.
Despite their outstanding individual displays, Real Madrid’s hierarchy are reportedly unconvinced that the qualities of the three superstars have translated into a balanced and cohesive attacking unit, raising fresh questions about the club’s long-term project.
