Tonight, I Dressed in Elegance

Tonight, I dressed in elegance again—
as on that night you whispered, “you’re beautiful.”
The wind carried the scent of roses,
and the light trembled in your tender eyes.

Each step awoke the music once more,
that waltz time never managed to erase.
The same dress, but not your hand—
the one that held me gently, like a prayer in motion.

Memories brush against my shoulders,
like hands that have forgotten flesh,
lingering only as a breath of night,
in a hall where love stands still and quiet.

Tonight, I dressed in elegance again,
not for another, but for a memory—
for some nights never find their way back,
yet live forever in the fabric of my soul.
