Manchester United are reportedly feeling compelled to sell an unexpected player to Barcelona.
In recent weeks, since the replacement of Ruben Amorim with Michael Carrick, United have shown an upturn in form.
The “Red Devils” have defeated rivals Manchester City and Arsenal in their last two Premier League matches. On Sunday, they will be aiming for a third consecutive victory when they face Fulham at Old Trafford.
Recently, a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes has linked a surprising United player with a potential move to La Liga, specifically to Barcelona.

It is said that Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is a big admirer of United defender Lisandro Martinez. The report mentions that Barcelona see the 28-year-old Martinez as a “perfect fit” due to his aggression and his ability to “break” opposition lines with his passing.
Furthermore, Martinez’s playing style is believed to suit well the high defensive line preferred by Flick. Fichajes reports that Barcelona are “ready” to make an offer in the summer, with a figure of around €30 million.
This amount appears low, given that Martinez’s contract runs until the summer of 2027, and United are reportedly under “significant pressure” to either offer the Argentine a new deal or sell him.
As a result, the report highlights that United “almost feel forced” to discuss a potential transfer with Barcelona due to the player’s contract situation.
