“He used to score 50 goals per season, it was unbelievable,” Karim Benzema speaks about his time with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior are currently the biggest names at Real Madrid and, on paper, form one of the strongest attacking units in the world.

However, when we look at Real Madrid’s history, the current duo still doesn’t come close to the top, as the club has had many attacking combinations in the past that were superior both on paper and statistically.

One of the greatest in this regard was the partnership between Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale — a trio that led the team to several UEFA Champions League titles.

Speaking about what he learned from the Portuguese star, Benzema credited him for many aspects of his attacking game:

“I learned a lot from him, especially movements, runs into the box, pressing, and how to manage it.”

“This man used to score more than 50 goals per season — it was unbelievable.”

While Ronaldo is expected to take part in the next FIFA World Cup, Benzema will not participate, as he announced his retirement from international football in 2022.

At club level, however, the two legends still share the pitch — this time as rivals in Saudi Arabia.
