Real Madrid has decided to bring back talented midfielder Nico Paz, activating the buy-back clause from Como.
The Argentine player, born in 2004, will join “Los Blancos” starting from next season.
The decision was made at the highest levels of the Madrid club, with president Florentino Pérez and his board giving the green light for the operation. The buy-back clause, set at €9 million, is expected to be activated during the summer of 2026.
In recent weeks, there had been reports of strong interest from Inter, which was looking to strengthen its midfield.
There were even mentions of Javier Zanetti as an influential factor, as well as the possibility of Paz playing alongside Lautaro Martínez; however, these speculations did not materialize.
Nico Paz was transferred to Como in the summer of 2024 for around €6 million, under an agreement that included a buy-back option and a percentage from any future sale.
Interest from other clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, did not succeed in altering the existing agreement between the parties.
