Mohamed Salah Makes European History with Unique Record Across Three Major Competitions

Mohamed Salah has achieved a remarkable milestone in European football, becoming one of only three players to have scored a goal and provided an assist in all three major European club competitions: the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.

According to Opta statistics, since the 2017/18 season, the Egyptian forward has scored and assisted in the same match on 13 occasions across these competitions, putting him at the top of the rankings with four more matches than his closest rivals.

Salah further strengthened his record during Trabzonspor’s debut in the Conference League, as the Turkish side secured a 4-2 victory over Finnish team KuPS. The Egyptian assisted his team’s opening goal before finding the net himself in the 44th minute.

In the match, Salah wore the captain’s armband for Trabzonspor for the first time before being substituted in the 55th minute.

At 34, Salah continues to demonstrate his importance in the attacking third, combining his goalscoring ability with his talent for creating opportunities for his teammates.

His statistics place him among the players who have left a lasting mark on European competitions, not only as prolific goalscorers but also as creative playmakers who contribute significantly to their teams’ attacking play.
