Real Madrid has yet to react to Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from the Portugal national team.
The 41-year-old striker announced the end of his international career on Thursday afternoon following several disagreements between him, the Portuguese Football Federation and the national team coach, which failed to find a resolution.
His retirement from international football has made Ronaldo a major talking point, with everyone discussing the Portuguese superstar. However, his former club, Real Madrid, with whom he won numerous trophies, has remained silent.
At the time of writing, Real Madrid has yet to release any statement regarding the matter on its social media channels or official website.
All the other clubs Cristiano Ronaldo has played for, from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United, Juventus and Al-Nassr, have posted tributes dedicated to the Portuguese superstar.
It is worth noting that Ronaldo is Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer. During his time with Los Blancos, he made 438 appearances and scored 450 goals.
