Spain have booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after a convincing 2–0 victory over reigning world runners-up France.
The reigning European champions dominated the match for most of the contest, giving Les Bleus very few opportunities to threaten.
Spain took the lead in the 22nd minute when Mikel Oyarzabal calmly converted a penalty won by Lamine Yamal.
La Roja went into halftime holding a narrow 1–0 advantage.
In the 58th minute, Pedro Porro doubled Spain’s lead, sealing what proved to be the final score of the match.
Spain will now face the winner of the semi-final between Argentina and England in the World Cup final.
Meanwhile, France will take on the loser of that encounter in the third-place playoff.
